Is the long walkway/cycle path that is parallel to the river,tha goes all the way to Caen town centre still open.About 8 miles approx long.When did they stop parking in the port and what was the reasons for that.Where do drivers park now to get the ferry?Thanks.
The cycle path is open.Parking to catch the ferry is not a
problem,it’s when you get off.You’re supposed to park at
the centre routiers,but you can park ZI Maresquiers,2nd
roundabout by Carrefour market.
I don’t recall when or why they stopped allowing parking
in the port,sheer cussedness would be my bet.
It was down to a health and safty issue when alot of our eastern friends were using it as a truckstop for days on end not just for a sleep over.There was some trouble in there one weekend after drinking and they were rude and threatening to the great staff on brittany ferrys.
What are the dates of this big knees up and most of the town quite merry and drunk.Has flea market with it as well.
