Ouistreham (Caen) strikes

Anybody on here get caught by the disruption to Brittany ferries service to the port of Ouistreham this Wednesday 16th June., 14.45 sailing from Portsmouth diverted to Cherbourg, 23.00 night crossing cancelled, due to industrial action by the dock staff ?
Apparently, according to news reports here in France, this may happen quite a bit over the next few weeks.

I don’t think it’s the dock staff. It’s the ferries staff who think they’re being not given promotion.

All the dockers here are mates of mine & have jobs for life.

Only going by what I heard on the ferry, Dave. Wasn’t there industrial action a few weeks back, where several ferries were delayed.
Going back to the strikes though, there is a lot of unrest here in France because Sarko wants to put up the retirement age. Can see lots of days of industrial action in the near future.

I’ve just come back in after shopping & I read in ouestfrance that all the unions are calling a strike on Thursday. This,as you say is to protest at Sarko wanting to put the retirement age up to 62.
It doesn’t bother me,as I was effectively retired at 52.
