Best people to tell about this might be the folks at the truck stop.
i can’t remember what day of the week it was, but i had a nice steak in there once.
mustard was free.
I did ask why and was told the kitchin wont do it far to busy …to busy to serve the very people its suposed to cater for
Had some good meals at Orwell, so good that I go back on Sundays with the family for Sunday lunch. Many other drivers do too

you need to contact the owner. being a sunday he probably wasn’t in, so the staff do what they want.

Iirc part of the deal to allow a truckstop there was they had to cater to the general public as well. I think the owner didn’t want public in but he had no choice.
Things must be a bit poor in ipswich if the best they can manage for a Sunday lunch is one at a truck stop.
There was an upside for the 1st time seen Goatys volvo very tidy truck

thats the upper class using that. should of seen the macy d’s!!
They should do same as the Famous Farm cafe and prioritise truck drivers by bringing them to front of queue
Stopped at Lockerbie last week (Tuesday IIRC) and there was a group of about 20 coffindodg…sorry Pensioners enjoying a proper sit down meal with waitress servicein the conservatory.
Have to say though I ordered an omelette and it was served very quickly as “they were already making one”.
seems we get priority at Lockerbie
Blimey, you’d have to be pretty clueless to go to a truck stop if you’re a truck driver on your day’s off… Surely?

Go for gold!
It’s now under new management. The bar and restaurant have been closed. Only food available is from a burger van. Does not take snap or key fuels. Only cash or bank/credit cards.
Orwell is owned by a lady - But that is all due to change according to the rumour mill. It has been on the market for a while and when i spoke with the marketing agent he confirmed it was offer submitted pending contract. Last i heard its due to have new owners from the 1st.
Being local our lot use it at least once a week and never have an issue.
