Origin of the Scania Engine

I was told recently that Scania origionally got their engine design from AEC. I know that there have been examples of Euro makers taking a British engine design and doing OK with it. I looked all over the place and cant get any info on this, anyone know any facts about it? Like for a start, is it true!

Oddz, it’s the (sort of) modern 6 cylinder power plant im on about, from maybe the 110’s onward? Or maybe those Scania Vabis units before the 110’s?
