The boss is very soon to be taking on another driver, I put the idea to him about giving a new pass a chance if I show them the ropes and he has agreed.
So if your willing to give up a day of your time I’m happy for you to accompany me on 1 shift were il show you the ropes of the work we do. This will be an unpaid shift but well worth your time as it’s a genuine opportunity to get your C+E career going.
I will teach you all I know about the job and help you get your foot in the door.
If your happy with the job and still keen by the end of the shift I will pass your details to the main man who can call you and discuss things further with you.
This is a genuine opportunity I am not a driving assessor or interviewer, no pass or fail with me just another driver trying to create a chance for a new pass as I remember how hard it can be to get a start.
The location will be WIDNES
You must have a C+E Licence and digi tacho
PM me if interested and we can arrange further from there
Cheers
Steve
+1. We could do with more of you. I hope you get a few eager and willing newbies take you upon the offer and one of them gets the chance to put their foot on the ladder. Seems like you have a good gaffer there too.
Nice one
Thats kinda how I started a week or two ago.
My boss knew I had an expired class 2 and paid me to get the medical and sent me out driving with our class 1 drivers (different each day) on the rigid for a week.
They reported back and now I am out there on my own happy as a pig in ■■■ (when not getting lost ) get all my work done though
Good on ya, I know how it felt to keep getting the 2 year thing thrown at you so I hope someone takes you up on your offer and listens and learns from you.
Thanks for the supportive comments, wasn’t sure how you lot would view it with the free shift thing. It’s the way I got started offering to go out with a driver to learn the ropes or I’d offer to work fir class 2 money for a month, the way I see it your gaining experience and still earnig and the boss has got a good deal for a month for taking a chance. Regarding giving up a day for nowt to go learn and get your foot in the ladder I see as good to as it’s probably cost a small fortune to get your licence and then you learn it’s near on useless to make it pay for itself without experience and what you’d spend printing c.vs, fuel driving round agency’s/company’s, phone calls and of course the false promises. It’s worth the day sitting next to another driver being an educational sponge learning the real job as it is. It worked for me and I’m sure many of you. In my opinion that’s alot more beneficial then a cpc for new drivers and experienced drivers with a good track record can educate the new starters properly like other industries do it. After all the old hands have earned their stripes already and shouldn’t be insulted with classroom crap. For those walking away from the industry for that reason shouldn’t let their experience go to waste and should at least have the option to teach new blood at least giving the cpc some sort of value and realism to the job.
Anyway went of topic their sorry. Im shocked!! Not a single response as yet but so many moan at the lack of opportunity out there.
Just to clarify incase it’s holding anyone back. We will share the truck for the day, not nighting out so not sharing the bunk or owt like that.
Only 1 job going Try not to miss it
Doesn’t just have to be new passes maybe your just trying to get back into the game and need that break.
Anyway il leave it there and update those interested accordingly
At the back of my mind I had a feeling you would say that you have had no response. Maybe another day or 2 you may get some or someone getting in touch but IMO I find it a bit sad and pathetic you ain’t even had 1 person ask about it.
You watch in the next week or so, we will have a post from someone saying they keep applying for jobs but keep getting knocked back due to lack of experience and here is someone willing to give up a days pay and their own time to show someone the ropes
this is a amazing offer i just wish i was able to take it. only passed my theory test 2 weeks ago, 98 out of 100 quite pleased with myself. but im buying a new house so have had to postpone my driver training till next year.
