Opinions about New Merc actros

I´m really interested in buy a New Merc Actros. Apparently in tests is reliable and good in fuel economy.
Whats your opinion?

Thanks mates!

I range from 9.5mpg (my worst figure) to 13.4mpg (my best figure) as allways the majority of it is how you drive it, I’m sure I could get it down in the 7-8’s if I floored it everywhere.

It’s better on fuel than our FH 460 Volvos and our MAN 480’s, gear box can’t seem to make it’s mind up when let’s say rolling up to a roundabout and you decide to pull out it gets all confused, don’t like the rain sensitive wipers either, also too low i reckon on the 2 front corners and you really have to watch those high curbs, the tan interior is no good if it’s a multi user vehicle.

But it is nice to drive and you are high up and have good all round visibility, i also like the fact that the end of the bed raises up a bit like a sun longer, plus also it’s the best looking motor out at the moment.

If i come in and there’s a choice of motors i’ll always take one of our Volvos though purely for the gearbox.

Oh and wlecome to TNUK.

Good review mate, I agree 100% about the tan interior we don’t have our own motors and some of the 62 plates are getting a little tatty on the tan parts. Black/Charcoal would have been better.

We have mainly Merc’s, there always used by the early lads, as we do the distance jobs, so they want the mpg for that, then there are DAF’s and Scrapia’s, out of the two I’d rather have a DAF if there is no Merc’s.

What is it with light interiors, give me black anyday so the muppets that get grease in the cab don’t write the motor off.

Best wiper system is in scania’s, variable speed inter mutant that you control.

Thanks for info.I wonder if this six straigth in 1845 would be enough for 40 tonnes in spanish roads…

But they’re good on fuel which lines my pocket with extra beer tokens due to the quarterly bonus scheme.

Never driven one, but they do look the ‘Muts Nuts’

I don’t see an bad opinions about new merc.Good to know it

There ok, nothing to right home about in my opinion, build quality is quite good but coming from a scania I found it to be noisy, not very good to drive and the gearbox is awful.

Just got me hands on one Bald bloke & agree with what you say totally also found it to be quite frankly bloody “gutless”

Check to see if it is in Eco mode, if it is then press the end of the stalk to turn it into normal mode and you will notice a marked difference
