OOPsssss

What is the fine for going through a 7.5 weight limit, going to Cross green in Leeds y/day and went the wrong way and what was sat there…A police volvo :open_mouth: :open_mouth: did not follow me but they don’t have to do they with a video in the car, guilty m lud

I’m reliabley informed, £80 plus costs :open_mouth:. However a letter admitting I’m very sorry, was lost etc etc sometimes does the trick, or it did for the driver of a certain Iveco rigid who got done in Coalville when he couldn’t be arsed to use the roundabout route out of the brickyards to Pallex’s Hub and no, before you start, that wasn’t me, I don’t get that sort of luck .

Was it 7.5t except for access? If it was and they didn’t stop you at the time then I think you are OK.

you got lost looking for an address in that area

The fuzz wanted £30 fixed penalty from me, but I’ve requested a hearing.

Coffee not sure, doing the work i do i am used to going through them but i am sure there was no except for access sign, Lib and scanny i am way ahead of you, wrote the letter out in my head almost instantly, it will be pathetic to read  one of our drivers had just got caught sat in a yellow box in london, £100, but i think they will contest because it also shows a pedestrian crossing with the light on red that is why he was stuck in the box, why do they put crossings near lights and not have them on the same circuit as the light’s

Dafman if you look here in the legal forum I’ve posted the text of the letter I wrote, feel free to pinch bits if you want.

Thanks Andy

      the police wouldnt stop you there cos if they did someone would be cheeky enough to nick your while they were giving you the ticket.
i take it you came off york rd at the torre rd junction and round that really sharp right hand bend well thats definatly a weight limit but i thinks its for the school.
you are meant to go about a mile down the rd and come in from the bottom end near town.

last time i got done for that it was 100 quid and 3 points

I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s a fairly regular occurence from what I’ve seen. If anything does come of it, point out that from the A64 where you came from there were no signs indicating that a 7.5 tonne weight is ahead nor a signed diversion route for truckers who have business on the estate. After all you’re not a mind-reader. Like I say though, I doubt anything will come of it.

I agree with you on this one.

i reckon they would have stopped you if they were gonner do you.

Been through loads of weight restrictions up here and the bobbies don’t seem to to care.

It cost me a £120 fine plus £100 costs. I took a 18tonner into Gloucester down a 7.5t weight limited road (except for access). I had stopped and got directions at a garage, as far as I knew I had to use that road for access to my drop. The weight limit ended at a roundabout. I went round the roundabout, onto the road I wanted. No weight limit :open_mouth: .
My statement said all that. Their attitude was, “tough”, I presume. :frowning: :frowning: .

There’s a seriously annoying one on the top side of Peterborough as you come down from Market Deeping. Instead of being able to turn right and go across a couple of doughnuts to join up with the A47, it sends you east and allllllllllllllllllll the way round Peterborough eventually bringing you out opposite Peterborough Services on the A1, about an extra 30 miles. Sorry but that’s a -take too far in my opinion and I’ll be the first to admit I completely ignore it and go via the ‘weight’ limit, which is in fact not a ‘weight’ limit at all; merely a ‘moaning residents’ limit. :imp:

Was there myself on Thurs and couldnt find the firm I was looking for  as only address I had was Cross Green Ind Est Pontefract Lane. Red area Blue area…it was all Greek to me. Weight limit here, weight limit there!!!
Eventually found it as got directions from cab firm that were on the estate.

Wow, didnt even know you could get fined for it lol The number of times I’ve just trundled through one! Not that I ever mean to, mind you. Its just that sometimes there isn’t any other way around! What do they want - I should fly over the ■■■■ restriction?
