need some advice
left work at 2:30pm today and left my tacho in the machine, forgott all about it 
going back in later to get it, truck wont of moved so millage will be correct but it will show ive done OTHER WORK since 2:30pm till 6;30.
what is best to rite on back of tacho?? starting work at 5am tomorrow so it will affect my 11 hour rest looking at tacho even though i was clocked out and home by 2:40pm

when you get you card take a print out and put on the back that you left you card in and state the time you finshed
if you company as time sheets for you as well tjhis sould be ok cos if you were stopped you can say that is on my time sheet as well

if you dont want to do that and just end your shift at that time that would be fine but you mite have a prob with WTD/RTD

Was it a clocking in/out machine 
If yes, then I am fairly sure that is ‘evidence’
As said I would just write on teh back of teh car you left it in by mistake and this can be backed up with your swipe out card from work and if need be I am sure your TM could also back you up but surely it wouldnt go this far 
If the truck won’t move I would just leave it and in the morning when you start remove it and write on the back something like “Chart left in head by mistake. Mode should be rest between 14:30 and 05:00.” Then sign it. If it is a digi tacho take a printout and write the same on it.
Going back in and removing it would technically be work so that would knacker your 11 hour rest anyway.
