OOPS! Another bridge strike

3.281 feet in a metre.

Immigrant:
Nice DAF

Oui.

Just had my tape measure out. Assuming I read it right. 4.12 metres

Saw that one northbound this on M6. Roof was on the floor, uprights had been cut and folded over the roof. Driver was starring straight ahead probably looking for next low bridge.
By the way no height indicator in cab needed for a curtainsider Swampey.

Say what??!!!
How is a curtansider any different from any other high vehicle?!

thought any truck with a travelling height of over 3 metres needed one

Here we go another one thick as ■■■■ :unamused:

Lorry hits Lambeth bridge despite huge warning signs - bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-36200939

What excuses can we come up with this time? Driver illness, bridge height wrong ?

I don’t think the warnings were clear enough.

:grimacing:

No excuses required .

How can you excuse complete & utter incompetence :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:. ,

you know what puzzles me , we have adaptive cruise control and sensors on cars & trucks to slow or stop before a collision occurs could this not be adapted to work in the same way for bridges etc ?

He must have stopped fairly rapidly - look at where the cab ended up!

I think the government should subsidise Specsavers because their advertising obviously isn’t working. I’m sure Maersk will be grateful for the free advert, not.

This bridge is hit so often. If the ariticle is correct it’s been hit 18 times since the beginning of Sept. There is no excuse.

Class 1 nobber - what else would you expect? Probably too busy trying to maintain the look of haughty disdain while avoiding eye contact with the Class 2 driver going the other way…

SWEDISH BLUE:
Well Swish do make movable curtains

Bet they don’t Swish now !

More like Creak, Grind, Jam, Rip !!!

Born to Care! - clearly not

I reckon there is something iffy with this bridge. I understand it is a busy route, however the sheer amount and frequency of strikes brings me to suspect that the road may have been resurfaced or something.

Unless the standard of truck driving is now completely [zb].

It’s about time they banned agency drivers :unamused: :unamused:

Yep the high cube container should of gone under if the bridge is 14’ 9 as signed. Looks a couple of inches lower
