I wouldn’t mind a roll round my cab with the Irish lass
So what was it all about then? Downtons or drivers in general?
The i player is your friend tassleman
All about the driver shortage and kind of trying to sell the job.
They had 4 unemployed who got to drive a rigid round then they asked them if they wanted to be drivers and they all said yes please.
As has been said, no mention of the hours, conditions, pay etc
Just a little bit biased
One of the drivers was asked if he would be happy if his daughter drove trucks.
" No ". PMSL

Fair point, well made
The first time that I was told not to be stupid enough to be a lorry drive was about 50 years ago. My Uncle was a driver and he reckoned that the job was going downhill back then.

He’d probably read some of Dipper Dave’s posts.
Caught some of the show, when that woman said drivers average around 23-25k not sure if she meant basic or clear after 25-30 hours o/t
Here’s a link to the BBC iPlayer page - segment starts at around 3min 20 sec - fascinated to see what you make of it!

I think it’s pretty patronising but, hey, its coverage of a sort.
Think truck drivers are probably better represented on Trucking TV . . .
