Hey now come on, why exactly is it a typical agency driver?! I’ve only ever driven agency, and I’ve never (touch wood) had a bump or scrape, left someones cab in a mess, stolen anything or whatever else you might like to accuse us of.
Sick of agency drivers getting slated, we are just as professional as a full time employee, of course none of them have ever had a crash or left the cab in a mess have they?

I think he knew it would be tight & was going slowly as otherwise, he’d of ripped it in half.
So you’d have thought if he was chancing his arm, he’d of been going even slower and realised in time that he wouldn’t make it. Wonder if he dropped the suspension.

Not scared of his gob Ady, just can’t be bothered with it. But don’t hold back on my account, nice to see someone bite back, keep up the good work!!!
ady 1 WHY do you blame agency drivers, just wondering thats all, i’ve been on a long term contract( agency) for the past 3 years and choose to do this, i always leave my cab clean i do my job to the highest standard and have the respect of my fellow drivers and the transport office and nearly all of the other agency drivers on the same contract are the same,ok there have been one or two that are idiots but you get that with the company men as well.I am not writing this to start a argument just wondered that is all.

I’ve been once working as an agency driver for one company, because their own driver was sacked for going under the bridge which was about 1,5 lower than the lorry It took them few days to find a driver (I wasn’t interested, as it was full time job and I was at the uni).
Than, about 3 weeks later I was back to the same company to cover sickness… The body of the truck was tilted. I asked “New driver needs to learn?” as the company, carrying light packaging stuff, uses unusually tall rigids…
No, this time it was other old driver… He got a warning

I drove around with a 16’ trailer for years and I never hit anything, mind you I tried to a couple of times to get rid of the thing, ever tried doing general haulage with one of those things.
Try dropping it in the road, re connect the airlines chaining and towing it through and under a 15’ bridge, imagine getting away with that nowadays.

If you drop the front of a 16’ trailer by a foot, then shirley by the law of physics the rear must raise to more than 16’
The one thing I never liked about driving for agency was that first day on a job here’s your keys and run find your load and goodbye. No time to learn. Don’t know what Lgv work is like with agency though. I do know my manager won’t hire agency drivers though. Mind you he won’t hire for the warehouse either because it affects the pocket!
