why would you even bother muckin about with a pallet truck an a pallet on a hill like that. Lesson learned and handball next time
I’ve always said pallet trucks should be banned. If you don’t have a loading bay to offload it, then handball the whole lot and have someone from the delivery there to help the driver do it.
Pallet trucks are the cause of so much ball ache, they need destroying NOW
I feel for the lad in the vid.
Why didn’t he pull the trigger till it hit the deck!

Doesn’t always work, especially if your pump truck is wonky. I dropped a full pallet of ceramic tiles off my tail lift in someones driveway once cos the pump truck wouldn’t go down quick enough when I pulled the trigger.
Amateurs if you dont know how to use one, then dont use it

Looks like the handle was in front of the pallet, if he’s just lowered the taillift with the pallet raised, gravity took over. I have a drop at Sherwood, Notts that’s on a bit of an hill and on the street, with pallets of radiators weighing up to 0.5 tonne it takes 3 of us to hold them back when offloading, sometimes we have to handball part of the pallet down to a manageable weight just to get it on the lift. I did have a rubber wheeled pump truck just for this job (nylon wheels are deadly) but the bloody warehouse lads keep hiding it for themselves, probably because it’s quiet and so they don’t wake each other up.
Oh well. Usually its the other way round and people want the pallet pulling up a hill.
i was delivering to a place in park royal a few months ago first drop had a dolav full of spuds got set up with the pallet truck ready pulled the lever nothing happened well it did straight off the back
apparantley pallet truck is kept in the cold store when not been used this affects the oil result pallet truck knackered this also happened to another driver the week before so not drivers fault but you think they would learn to store the pallet truck somewhere better

Thats your own fault for not doing a walkround check of the pumptruck prior to using and noting all defects on the checksheet and refusing to use it Alternatively you could have pushed it slower

Didn’t have to push it. It was on a slight downhill slope.
I had a bollocking off a copper once for standing on the now empty pallet and cruising down the slightly inclined High Street in Falmouth towards Trago Mills where Id parked the truck
