Why is next?

Who are “why” and what makes you think that they will be next?

Plenty more work for Kriess then, who now seem to be NFT’s first choice haulier, still undercutting internal loads by up to £200 a load is bound to make them popular, anyone who still thinks cabotage rules should be abandoned needs their head looking at, a Latvian shopkeeper now has 1800 units and on course to become one of Europes biggest independent fridge haulier yet has next to no work out of his own country.

I thought nft drivers were on good t&c , s ? If so surely it would be a good thing for nr Evans drivers
Nb years since I did chilled work so might be different now

Will NR Evans have a grave? I’d love to go dance on it. Hands down the worst shower of ■■■■■ I ever had the misfortune to work for

Kreiss just bring Brioch and Lactalis to Nft sometime take load to London area.Every day they do may be some 10 -20 delivery to Nft.I not sure who is choise make delivery to Nft-Nft or production company. In most cass supplyers decide who will move load but not buyer or Nft,Culina or wharever. To Nft bring food at least some 10 transport companies .Who is cheapest i not sure.

If you talk who Kreiss must not work out from own coutry that British truck must as well not go out of own country and people simply must eat food which maked here.

Andrejs you have no idea what you are on about Kriess bring all the Danone out of Ferriers en Bray and run back there empty which means that UK hauliers tipping in that region have now lost what was a viable backload. They are currently doing UK work for NFT a rate that no UK haulier can compete with. All of this wouldn’t be economically viable if it wasn’t for EU subsidies, funny how subsidies are legal for EE countries yet illegal in the case of the Port Talbot steel works, EU distortion of the market at it’s best.

Don’t know why you are worrying, in the post brexit UK, the government will protect its domestic haulage industry, by refusing entry to any truck with the steering wheel on the left, as we know the UK government loves its home grown truckers, and treats us all so well, with lots of parking facilities, truck lanes, free yorky bars and many other uk truck friendly policies. Its always been those nasty eurocrats ruining our lives. :unamused: :unamused:

Knackered trailers, unrealistic schedules, ■■■■■■■ an entire artic full of sides of beef off a trailer at some crappy little meat processing factory, Friday “we know you want to be home but we’ve planned you to go to Crosshands, take a trailer over to Cardington (Bedford) and on Saturday morning run back up to Carnaby” and night drivers having to have “days out” and sleep during the day in their wagon in heat like this.

+1

I was based at Crosshands and after running in back to base at the end of my 4 on 4 off shift they would then sometimes send me down to Pembroke for a load of cheese, quite often with only a couple of hours driving left too, One time they didn’t tell me till after I’d got back to the yard, handed in my notes, cleared all my gear out, washed the truck and removed my card. I was actually handing my keys into the front desk!
So I questioned “was there anyone else who could do it?” I was told “no, I’ve given it to you so go” needless to say I was a little less than pleased about it but went off and did it anyway, when I then got back to the yard after picking up the Pembroke load I got called into the office and was told that I was at the end of my 3 month trial and sorry I was not suitable!

The fat [zb] wouldn’t even give me a proper reason he just said I was unsuitable and “It’s all explained in the letter” so I opened the letter in front of him and it just said “I was unsuitable” when I kept pressing why was I unsuitable he couldn’t or wouldn’t give me a valid reason and wouldn’t respond any differently than repeating “you’re just unsuitable”, I even asked him how many of us were “unsuitable” since a group of us had started at the same time and therefore our 3 month trial period ended at the same time, this was in January btw, AFTER the Xmas rush had died down and they were hitting their quiet spot, go figure.

I think he needed to whittle down a few of the "last in’s"and through bad timing I happened to question an order whilst he was in the office, never at any point in the 3 months I was there did I damage anything, miss a delivery slot, give anyone grief (NR Evans staff or delivery place staff), the only time I could’ve possibly been seen as a “non team player” was that day I asked “Is there anyone else that could do it”.

I left a bloody good job with a bloody good company to work for NR Evans and the ONLY reason I did was for the 4 on 4 off due to my Wifes health issues which were requiring me to be at home more frequently I’ve never had any “unsuitability” issues at ANY other firm I’ve worked for.

I did some work for NFT out of Middleton a couple of months ago when I had a stone in my shoe.

They are on around £10.60 per hour, drag small wheeled suitcases around the yard like posh vagrants, and cry to management if they don’t max their hours out.

next is, Jersey Post are to buy Fraser Freight of Portsmouth, cheers Alan.

If you ever see Kreiss unit 850, keep your wits about you. Encountered them at Hatfield and Purfleet. One goes to sit in the waiting room, the other goes around trying cab door handles, and if no joy there, starts opening curtains. Security at Hatfield saw the second fella on camera frogmarched him into the waiting room. His only protest was to soil the drivers toilet. And I mean soil it, he must have climbed on top of the cistern and faced the wall to make that kind of mess. Should have been deported, not just banned off site.

When the same unit turned up at Purfleet, I mentioned to the desk folk what had happened, and they found number 2 matey hiding in the unlocked cab.
