One for the experts;

came to the same conclusion but it didn’t matter in the end and I now have my shiny new license! Well chuffed! :grimacing:

Very pleased to have a blue cert right here :sunglasses:

The bit in question says “This is not a license to drive; you MUST exchange it for a license showing your full entitlement within two years of passing your test. If you do not do this then you will lose your right your right to claim entitlement to drive the category cover by this certificate.” Well you can’t lose what you don’t have so I’d say you have entitlement from the day you pass. Plus you’ll find all your other entitlements start from the day you passed the respective tests.

I would further back this up by checking the date of issue of the licence on the back of your card. You should find that the date for this will be the date that you passed the test for that particular class of vehicle.

Unless you are an old ■■■■. Mine just has <01-04-91 for the date of issue when I actually passed it in 1987. :wink:

One other little thing is bothering me though. Why do they still keep the likes of the C on your licence when every moron knows (we don’t need the “experts” for this one!) that C+E automatically gives you C anyway the same way that an old Class 1 gave you Class 2 and Class 3?

Actually C+E doesn’t automatically give you C. You already have C and the C+E only adds the E bit. These days you can’t take the C+E without having the C bit first and the from date will likely be different for the C and C+E sections, although mine is the same , <01-04-91

If you think about it, you would not get far with just an E licence; :stuck_out_tongue:

Exactly, so the C+E doesn’t give you C as you already have it.
