One for the Bike Haters

what a crock. You`ll probably end up underneath a bulker with that stupid philosophy. Good luck.

Do all the bike whingers wait for the green man before crossing the road ■■ Tut tut

Cycling is all about smooth momentum and im not stopping for daft traffic lights when im not traffic

Clearly not your old brain. On its own, crossing the road without a green man isn’t an offence in the UK Einstein. Cyclists are covered by the RTA 1988 and should obey all traffic signals. Play the game then start winging about others. He who is without sin cast the first stone eh.

Keep trolling. What’s next, unicycles and juggling? I’m all ears. I want to hear about unicycles…

If something has worked for me for over 40 years i start to think i might have been right all along
Especially as people often think im in my 30’s
Give it a try .
You may stop being an old misery

I saw this on the MEN website, scary stuff :open_mouth:

The cyclist has held his hands up to it though - he gunned it for the lights, missed the change and when he got on the brakes, his front brake cable snapped. A wet road with only your rear wheel to stop you isn’t going to end well. As for the ‘oblivious’ bus driver - he wasn’t, he parked up safely and went to check on the cyclist.

Regardless of whether he held his hands up,like he had any option to anyway the video shows it all,was he charged for jumping a red light and causing a RTA■■? Or made to prove his brake cable snapped which personally I think is a load of ■■■■■■■■ just an excuse because he got caught on camera.
Edit-he is still physically peddling in a forward motion after he has gone through the lights so I call [zb] to his story,he obviously fancied his chances.

He’s riding a fixie though, so if the rear wheel is turning, so are the pedals.

sorry but got to say what sort of fool rides a fixie in an urban environment with lots of traffic light junctions and pedestrian crossings etc .what if that had been a pedstrian crossing he had ploughed into rather than a bus ? by all means ride a fixie on the wide open roads where you have room & time to react but in a city center "accident looking for somewhere to happen " in my eyes

■■■■ knows, mate - the kind of fool who guns it towards a set of lights that he’s probably not going to catch, in the wet?

Nothing wrong with a fixie in an urban environment, providing it’s got a friction brake on the rear.

Only thing that hero cyclist in video does wrong is pottering about .
If he had been hammering properly he would have safely been across before brain dead bus driver hits him

Love it     I just keep watching it. Pity it was a bus, if it had been a truck he might have killed himself. Smile as you go under.

I used to road race on a ‘fixie’, with a front brake. Toured on one as well.
If ya stop pedalling, yer back wheel stops turning, that is yer back brake. You do have to work at stopping pedalling though.
A fixie has a solid rear sprocket, screwed directly onto the hub, retained by a lock ring with a left handed thread.
A fixie with no front brake is intended purely for track work, as it’s got no front brake it’s illegal to use on the road.
I did a bit of track work as well, on the Velodrome in Edinburgh built for the Commonwealth Games of 1970. I decided I preferred road racing, mainly time trials.

A Dutch style, back pedal to brake can freewheel, so it isn’t a fixie.
A single gear on a freewheel hub can freewheel, so it isn’t a fixie.

Ya simon .
But think hero cyclists have taken to to calling any single speed bike a fixie , even when as u point out they not

What’s a “hero” cyclist?

Maybe I missed this. Oh you mean the ones who carry road traffic accident victims from crashes to hospital on their bicycles. Or the ones who deliver babies by the roadside. Or one the ones who pedal to the edge of Beachy head to talk down a suicidal widower on a Sunday morning?

Oh. Right. I get it. You mean the ones who run red lights and like to film people for breaking rules they don’t feel apply to themselves? Still talking tosh I see. You won’t mind I say that as you’re trolling naturally.

  I strongly suggest you have a more in-depth look at the video. At what point in the proceedings does the bus driver hit him? Might i also suggest that “hammering” is probably not the best strategy in busy traffic situations? You premier league moron.

Very enjoyable watch. What would have put the icing on the cake would be,if his head would have gone through the window, all the passengers could take it in turns to slap his face.

It would have been hilarious if he had stuck to the window like a cartoon garfield and then slowly slid down while groaning pathetically as someone nicked his bike. Being from glasgow I imagine them cycling away going “aw quality man, free bike”

Be even funnier if they brought it back to him and said " Its nae good man. Brakes are f*cked ".

The hero cyclist is a hero because he is not sat on his fat arse in his fiesta driving down the offy and kebab shop , thus will save the country a fortune , and the doctors time by not developing diabetes , blood pressure and those other fat peoples gripes ,
All through his heroic disregard for his own safety by entering the urban battlefield , with his only safely shield a heroic desire to hammer hard and use momentum to avoid trouble

And just hope the that Karma is a cyclist too , and not a pillock bus driver

 You truly take drivel to the next level… and beyond.

We just love plonkers like you on here - you provide a distraction from real-world, relevant issues. Please keep coming back here - you make us laugh.

And instead wastes hospital time getting patched up every time he cycles into buses like a loony tune. Seems legit
