One dead after nine-vehicle crash

Another multiple pile up on a British motorway involving 2 LGV’s 2 vans and 5 cars.Thankfully being semi retired I do not travel much on motorways down south but everytime I do I am horrified about the lack of distance drivers keep from each other.Thankfully most of the time nothing goes wrong but when it does vehicles cannot stop in time and we have results like this. All very sad really especially at this time of year.
Attitudes need to change otherwise the carnage will continue.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.

agreed - but the number of car drivers needing education is the major problem.

Lightning I agree many car drivers need educating but I am afraid so do many truck drivers.Just remember most truck drivers are also car drivers but we are meant to be the professionals.

Blame everyone else apart from yourself seems to be the norm these days.

Indeed, I don`t know what is wrong with a lot and I mean a LOT of lorry drivers these days…If yer sticking to your 40 limits, it is a bloody nightmare with them :imp:
I usually click it off to 36 and let them get by, much safer.
You can feel the frustration coming from them.
I got honked at going round a roundabout too slowly a couple of weeks back…I aint tearing round any roundabout with 26 boxes of tates on…Whats wrong with these morons■■?

How often do you leave a decent gap between you and the car in front just for some knoob head to pull infront of you and slow down■■?

I sympathise with you.I really do.It’s all about patience and there is very little on our roads these days.

Not sure if you read it properly? i didnt say i travel to close, i said when you leave a decent gap someone pulls infront of you and slow down, then i slow down to leave a gap and another pulls infront again, then you overtake them and it all starts over again, for some reason many motorist have the " i have to get in front of that truck" mentality.

I always try to leave a decent gap as i dont want to mount someone from the rear.

Yes I read it properly but apologies for misunderstanding it.Ok I understand what you are saying. Can’t say I have come across that problem very often.
Most cars that pass me do not slow down…they are gone as they should be.

Where is the accident?
