Just been on youtube listening to all the music and watching scenes from Once upon a time in the west. Got to be the greatest western of all time, the music stirs the soul and never fails to excite.Watch the final dual and the classic Charles Bronson"You brought two to many" ,must watch the whole film again soon.
I thought it was going to be about the Somerset Levels?
That and Fistful of Dynamite. Both films contained a a lot of sad harsh historic reality amongst the action in their story lines.
But,as usual,Claudia Cardinale was even better than the music in Once upon a time in the west.

Yes she is one hell of a woman.
Plus Henry Fonda cast as a ‘baddie’ which must be about the only time he didn’t play the Nice Guy in a film. Certainly my favourite Western, Jack Elam at the station trapping a fly with his revolver, classic!!
Pete.
Watched that film when it was released back in the 1960’s. A classic, that and the Wild Bunch are classics. A lot of good actors in both films. Have both and many others on dvd. Jason Robards and Charles Bronson are good in Once Upon A Time In The West as well as Henry Fonda. Claudia Cardinale is also very tasty .
Cheers Dave.

Yes also like war films. Liked For a few dollars more with Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef in it, some of it a bit far fetched, but a good film in its day. Also liked Lee Van Cleef in The Barquero. Anything with Robert Duvall in, is usually good.
Cheers Dave.
Some American Westerns were filmed in the rugged and lunar landscape around the Almeria area in Spain.
If you visit Tabernas, there is a zoo, aquapark and a film set where stunt men get shot and fall off houses.
The street gun fight is very good.
You could spend a whole day there.Live music and dancers.
The Cowboys and True Grit John Wayne were two more classics.Battle of Britain and Battle of the Bulge were probably the best ever war films. If only they could have had the correct German kit to use for the action scenes. The new film Fury sounds good it’s going to be the first time that a genuine Tiger tank has been used which is the one from Bovington which has a story of it’s own.

The Jeff Bridges remake of " True Grit " is good, also he is good in " Wild Bill ", especially where he is giving Calamity Jane a seeing to on top of the bar . Another good remake is " 310 to Yuma ".
Cheers Dave.
