Never tried a Tioga mikey-t, beware of the 2.4 Maxxis Ardent though they will frighten the life out of you, the 2.25 is ok though. An Orange Patriot thats some big hitting bike Bloke, I’m on a Yeti 575 nowadays, managed 50 miles of singletrack on my hols this week so far on dry dusty trails but its 95 so I’m trying not to overdo it…
I used to race (crash out a lot) downhill around lickey the malverns forest of dean, and entered a few tournaments got to fort William nationals once.
Had to quit it all after a motorbike accident but am looking at getting back on.
Looking at a specialized big hit or something similar but need to sort my money out first,
One thing I will say about maxxis is they have weak sidewalls,no support sand tear easy on rocky stuff. Tioga will grip through the sloppiest of muck but terrifying on Tarmac.
Continental do a nice hybrid tyre or used to, yellow and black, plenty of grip and kept you upright on road.
