Let’s say you had been given a run one day, starting at Lutterworth (Magna Park) and comprising two drops (one at Macclesfield, one at Nottingham) followed by a small (i.e. 4 or 5 items, all of which will easily fit onto one Europallet) collection also in Nottingham. The deliveries are simple pump-truck jobs, 4 or 5 Europallets each - 30 minutes if you take your time. Assuming no major traffic problems (i.e. nothing more than the usual slow bits on the M6 and/or A50 and/or M1. How long do you reckon that would take? Assume you leave the yard after your vehicle checks around 7am.
7hrs with breaks, maybe 8hrs tops.
2hrs to Macclesfield, hour and a half from there to Nottingham, hour to Magna Park from Nottingham so 4.5hrs driving. 1.5hrs total at the drops and pickup, 45 minute break.
Haven’t they got back yet?

The driver concerned managed to stretch it out to 12 hours yesterday…
Paid hourly = never wanting to go home!
Pete.
This reads like an O level maths question. I left school 34 years ago…can’t we do some drawing instead?
Same driver had a run the next day with drops in Nottingham, Rotherham and Barnsley. Admittedly, at one site there are five separate delivery locations, so it takes a while to get them all done (I drew him a sketch-plan to help) but the whole run can comfortably be done in 8 hours. He got back 12 hours later, and brought four of the deliveries back as “there was nowhere to park”.
