What did he say on the team radio a few weeks ago??

ā€˜Leave me alone.I know what I’m doing’

All in all the race was an excellent climax to the season.

Certainly was an excellent race. Just not the outcome I would have liked.

That will teach Raikkonen to follow his satnav. They always send you down the wrong road.

Made me laugh. He said afterwards that he went off there a few years ago and used that route OK

Good race all in all. I do wonder why Seb didn’t get a penalty for causing a collision though
Of the 2 drivers I think Alonso should of won it TBH. I’m no fan of him or Ferrari but he’s dragged a poor car around on the heels of Seb and his Newymobile all year and but for Grossjunk at Spa ā– ā– ? :imp:

I’m pleased Vettel won, he’s a great driver that keeps proving his critics wrong. This isn’t to say Alonso wouldn’t have more tan deserved the drivers championship, the Ferrari is defiantly sub-standard compared to the other top running cars. As for Mclaren signing Perez, well they might know more about him than most of you do and at the beginning of the season he was tipped to go to Ferrari replacing Massa.
I don’t know if Lewis Hamilton has made the right decision, but he been linked with Mclaren for years and probably needed a change. Hamilton drives with his heart and the change might fire him up again.
The people I feel really sorry for are those working for HRT, it would seem that they’re now out of work.

Hamilton should of won championship , shame McLaren have had an unreliable car and pit stops :frowning: ill still be supporting McLaren but will still shout for Lewis aswell, he will get the best out of the merc he will make Rosberg look like he should be in a sauber lol ! Brilliant season

He is a good driver but it was others bad luck and unreliability that gave him a 3rd title IMO.

Speaking of Perez did you see the Lewis’s departure/ Perez arrival in the Tooned thing

It’s a fair point, there are several really great drivers in F1 at the moment, but that’s motor racing, despite what some people think it’s actually a team sport, I can think of several times where a team I’ve been in or driver we had could have won a Championship if a few thing had gone slightly differently.

The Driver I worked with that I really feel was unlucky not to win a championship with us was Bruno Senna, He would have only needed 13 more points to win the 2008 GP2 Championship. But in Turkey he hit a dog whilst he was in a points position, in Valencia he ran out of fuel, whilst in a points position and despite the engineers knowing it was going to be tight and having the option to top up before going to the grid like other teams did and in Spa he got a drive through for an unsafe release in the pit stop when he was leading the race.
He did and does make silly driver mistakes and he’s far from perfect, but does have flashes of brilliance, like in the wet at Silverstone, he took the lead and then pulled such a gap that looked like he had a different car to everyone else and then at Monaco got in front of Maldanado in the first corner and kept it despite the pressure from Pastor and fortunately we had a good pit stop.

Your right it is a team sport and that’s why wherever Adrian newey goes that team will win

He didn’t design the Ferrari’s that dominated F1, then everybody talked about needing Ross Brawn to have a Championship Winning Team. Although 9 Constructors Championships in 20 years is pretty special.

Of course what they do have in common is they are both British, we have some amazingly talented Engineers in this Country most aren’t that well known out of the Motorsport Industry, but they produce stuff which is sold round the World.

I go to loads of little places either building the latest high tech bit for some state of the art car or aeroplane or painstakingly restoring some priceless classic from nothing more than a few rusty old bit and a drawing or picture.

He didn’t but that was a 1 off haha :stuck_out_tongue: I like F1 but its a bit ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  how who ever has the best car wins all the time they then win the constructors championship wich gives them more money to build a better car wereas the teams at the bottom will usually be stuck there all the time

You still need the best drivers to win and the top teams will get the best drivers because they can pay and a top driver will want to go to a top team.
but you can’t do it without a good car, but Ferrari defiantly haven’t got the best car compared to Red Bull or Mclaren, but they have probably one of the great drivers in Alonso and he was bloody close to winning the championship.

Teams success do move up and down, but true it does depend on loads of money, more than just a constructors, but remember Red Bull didn’t arrive as a championship winning team it was born out of the demise of Jaguar.
But money doesn’t actually buy success, ask Toyota, they spend so much doing F1 they probably could have funded the rest of the paddock.

At the moment I think most drivers in F1 are bringing money to the team, The exceptions will be Red Bull, Mclaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, maybe Torro Rosso, force India, Timo Glock and Heikki Kovalainen.
