i bet you’ll see that back on the road
I driven worse
We have had bigger than that in there Drive !!
Sorry boss I missed the boat
is that what they mean when a haulier sinks to a new low
obviously there was not a DAF truck near by or they would of just used that to pull it out of the water instead of the crane malarky
is it me or is the size of that crane a little OTT for the job its doing? i mean what that crane must be plated to lift couple of hundred tonnes and it was sent to lift a 34t trailer??
i bet the crane driver ■■■■■■ him self with laughter when he turned up…
I rekon the driver did put the handbrake on but some crazy scanny fan saw an opportunity and shouted “die die die - scania will rule the world” as they watched the premium roll into the water
walked away with a big grin rubbing his hands together…
“thats one down just another 10,000 to go…”
HomoFaber:
“At which point do I pack it in?” - somebody on here asked recently. Well, when you ■■■■ up like this, for example.Good to hear the driver is OK, but have to ask who gave him driving licence when he cannot remember and practise such a basic thing as applying handbrake and a gear when parking up. Or chocking the wheel when you don’t trust the lorry or ground you’re on.
Goes on to prove that the CPC is a good idea…
To be fair, Ive forgot to put the handbrake on before but I was in a DAF CF which actually tells you in a voice that you’ve left it off
Its not funny it could have been a car office or hame it rolled into even killed or mamed people should have put the handbrake on no other excuse ban him his a danger

I think it has something to do with range of crane. This crane is parked quite far from the edge, so at such long arm it has to be a big one to lift 34 tons…
It looks like he’s tried to get one up on the driver who’s wagon almost rolled off the back of the Irish ferry into the Irish Sea.That one went backwards this one went forwards and made it into the water this time .

Bewick do you remember the end of the old film Convoy and what Rubber Duck said when they saw that he was still alive
But they don’t let me on here as a rule I’m just a gatecrasher.

But it is funny. Do you know why it’s funny?
Because nobody got hurt!
Laughing at other peoples misfortunes is what we do. Comedians make a career out of it, and so does the Hollywood film machine.
If someone posted a pic of an accident which resulted in death or injury and laughed about it, there’d quite rightly be howls of outrage. But they didn’t, and it didn’t. Lighten up man
FAIL

I’m guessing it was either all that was available or it was for the reach, my last job we had a similar sized one to lift air con units onto the roof of a Tesco store, the first crane arrived but couldnt get the height needed to lift the distance over the roof to where it needed so one similar to that ended up being called in.
Not all LOGs float eh.
Didn’t know VOSA were allowed to dip tanks on dock property.
New type tankwash, dip him in and hang it to dry after.

so rayluv … you never ever made a mistake then ■■?
That could of been anyone of us, the bloke probably feels bad enough as it is.
Volvofh16:
I just got these of a friend,it was in Goole Dock;
That pic should be printed onto sticky backed plastic & stuck on the front of every trailer right next to the red line connector!
Orys you are thinking along the right lines - as jib angle decreases and reach increases lifting capacity reduces, but this appears to have been a near vertical lift from the off.
Do we have any mobile crane drivers as members or are they all too busy on lifting-world?
Evidently Mammoet lift upto 10,000 tonnes, so this job would be nothing more than a light weight exersize.
ROG, you like phoning people up & asking questions, get on the phone to Mammoet at Stourton & ask them if they’d care to post here.

the reason you require a biggun is to overcome the suction of the mud that this truck embedded itself into, ever lost yer wellies in the garden after a downpour
