cheers mate.    all i wanted to know ian was what you ment by

but is there a fight back…

I voted no. You can bet your life on the management team being the same. I have no time for dodgy management getting their drivers made-redundant or pressuring them to infringe tacograph laws - resulting in fines and license endorsments.

Fair enough it is up to drivers to draw the line, but there are some who are afraid to put their foot down and say no and there is drivers who lose their job when the company goes under, despite not breaking the law.

I ain’t a do-gooder (as RobK puts it) but I don’t see the point in disregarding regulations and getting caught, then losing your license just for an extra few pounds on your pay-slip. Forcing other people into such a position is worse. :imp:

The decision was taken after the Traffic Commissioner judged that the driving force at William Martin Oliver and Partners haulage was making money:

Haulage Companies making money can’t have that in the UK can we.

Seriously though Companies that flout the law, put lives in danger and undercut companies that try to keep within the law.

i voted no, but you see this happening time and time again!
these companies go up before the commisioner and the courts, are found guilty as charged then all that happens is a quick change of company name and a shuffle of directors and managers and its business as usual, the trucks dont even stop rolling, its wrong!! with ref to olivers, they are not even changing their name ffs, just turning it round!
whats the point of an expensive court case and public enquiries, when it doesnt really change anything!

it’s not just human lives being put ar risk,we have the welfare of the cattle which is transported in these trailers to think about as well.

at the moment we have 4 people voted yes.i’d be interested to know your reasons why you voted yes  i ain’t going to judge you’s on what you say it’s just interesting to try and understand your reasons behind saying yes.

And I dont want to have to use toilet rolls that have been on a truck for days without a proper break :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry Jim, do they do livestock haulage as well?

You cant teach an old dog new tricks!

A leopard cant change its spots

Not far from where I used to live, was a haulier who must have changed his company name 15 times. had several fires where the only damage was wage details and tacho cards. And he was burgled twice by some strange thieves who had a fetish for drivers records.

The boss has retired from Haulage and his son and wife have tried to run the company. He always gets back in charge and when they get in trouble, he blames the drivers and office staff.

Yet he still gets an O licence.

And yes I will agree to having a slightly different interpretation of the laws in my past :stuck_out_tongue:

yes malc up here they transport live stock
