'Fraid not as we always had plenty of our own direct traffic out of Kent over the years we operated to and from the South east,mainly Pulp from the Medway and Sheerness and reels from Aylesford and Tovil for Reeds.In the early years ( 70/71) we had all the loads we could manage out of Robinsons Sacks on the Esplanade,but that job got screwed up when carriers licencing was abolished and they let “every man and his dog in”,even W.H. Smith started running out out of Robinsons with their poxy vans.So we stopped running for the ■■■■ rates that the job sunk to !! Cheers Bewick.

Been thinking ! way back when there was a bit of fun in the game --the night trunkers would tell me tales of the “tarts of the night” they were on the oxford to swansea run and changed over trailers at raglan --they would talk about Cinderford ‘lilly’ ,Raglan mary, newport jane, gloucester peg etc ,never experienced any of this myself you understand !! toshboy PS I remember now they used to call them ‘smokers’ i often wondered why.
