Just been out for a meal with Daughter ( was her birthday yesterday ) her partner & granddaughter was just over 30 quid that included drinks starters main & deserts in a nice Italian in Chester le street
Wil be working most of christmas although off 24 - 30 dec then 1 jan
You should have taken them to Bob’s, it was only 1/10d for a bacon sanger and a mug of tea last time I went in there in 1964.
Tea has probably gone a bit cold in the last 50 years FH66.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
Bob’s Eh’, the petrol bill to get to and from there would have cost more than the bill in the Italian.
thanks harry, long retired.

Haha, I wish Dave! Fifty four years since I wore shorts of any kind, this weekend I turn 64. Never thought I would get to be this old, it isn’t much fun when you realise that your life is rapidly passing away. Still, I am hanging on in there for now.

You ain’t old Pete, you are three years behind me, and a lot further behind a lot of the others on here.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
Well chaps I’m 78 and have just returned from my annual cancer check-up with the usual OK
Mr Gill contact us immediately if you notice any change in your health that is concerned in
your stomach area otherwise make an appointment to see me again in a years time, they’ll
never tell you you’re cured though but I suppose having the knowledge that the medical
people are there should I ever need them is good to know.
thanks harry, long retired.

Good for you Harry. Always good when they don’t want to see you for another year. I have to go for an annual MOT in January, hope it will be OK. I believe in going for check ups, as if there is any problems, they can be sorted. Otherwise if you don’t go until you are unwell, they may not sort things.
Keep Breathing.
Cheers Dave.
Good news then Harry. I would make the annual appointment now for next year, you are then guaranteed to live another 12 months as they get annoyed if you cannot make it for some reason! Of course they can still cancel it an hour before, nothing ever said about that.
Under the ‘quacks’ myself at present, a lack of iron in my blood and too much stress which is making me poorly, so I go and see a nice young lady doctor every couple of months and she listens to my moans and groans!

A bit of liver washed down with some original Guinness Pete will get your iron back to normal. As for the stress, I can’t advise on that.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
I took iron supplement tablets for 7 years after my surgery and must admit I felt fine as a result
but 12 months ago in their wisdom they decided to take me off the iron tablets and after some
months I started to feel listless and tired all the time went to my GP who took blood tests and
the results came back no further action required no iron needed, so I bought a tonic from the
chemist, “not suitable for diabetics” I’m diabetic I ignored the advice “on my head be it” but at
the moment I feel great and hope the Doc doesn’t rap my knuckles on my next visit, at the age
of 78 I’ve already stolen 8 years more than my three score years and ten you’re supposed to be
happy with, I’m not averse to pinching a few more years though.

good to hear you are on top form harry . you don’t have to listen to everything the quacks say , you know what’s best for yourself by how you feel . blood tests ! they’ve had enough blood off me this year to make a black pudding but it doesn’t seem to tell them anything . i’m waiting for the results from my nuclear heart scan which was done early october , rang the clinic yesterday to be told results go to your gp , they haven’t got there yet . good job they aren’t lorry drivers or the country would grind to a halt . i thought the comment about you’re deep pockets was a bit below the belt though , it’s not your fault you were born with short arms .cheers , dave
Me? take any and every test that is offered, at the moment I’m in the middle of prostate tests. GP did a blood test, a figure came back too high, “off you go for a bit of investigation”.

Good news Harry, Looking forward to seeing you on the 29th. Hope the doc took the stitches out of those deep pockets!!! Regards Kev.
Hiya
Now then Kev, deep pockets indeed, I’m generosity personified or at least I would be
if I could spell it Oh’ while we’re on I expect there’ll be a length of rope at the next
“do” if you can’t do a dolly you can’t get in Eh’ I’ll start practicing today I’ll bet there’s
one or two who can’t though, might just be the revival of flat trailers and ropes and
sheets, Er’ on second thoughts don’t bother the memories are too painful.

I had to go to my GP’s earlier this year, we live in a little village, only 2 x docs, a fellah & an attractive lady doc, she asked me to drop me trousers & lay on the couch, whilst she put the gloves on & got the grease gun out,
I said “Call me old fashioned - But Isn’t it customary for me to buy you dinner & share a bottle of wine before this?”

Shame these doc’s don’t have a sense of humour !!
Hiya,
Yes Toddy, I had the prostate examination earlier this year incidently by a very pretty young
lady doctor I was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate but the surface being smooth there
was nothing necessary required at the moment she added if it had been more like a golf ball
there would have been immediate action needed, I just let her get on with it although she’s
a pretty girl I didn’t have a chat-up line to match yours to hand so the moment was wasted.
