Nice one Norman, I like your style!!!

Glad you took the drift Kevin    I wouldn’t mind a load of it for my garden, I actually purchased 4bags of horse manure last week when my daughter took me to the garden centre, also 4bags of john inns and three bags of irish compose. She said what are you doing with your manure, I said put some on my rhubarb, and some on my potato’s. My daughter replied,   we have custard on ours, and mint and butter on our potato’s! I do not know where she got her wit from. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Nowts changed Norm, And I don’t think it ever will, We have Transport Managers to-day that don’t know the haulage game like you & I did plus thousands of others also, In my young days as a driver the Managers I worked with new the job inside out & many of them could go out & drive In an emergencey, Not today though they are all bookmen & a lot of them rely on SATNAVS, To instruct their men what to do , Heaven help us, Or should I say the ones still operating motors Eh. Regards Larry. Long Retired & Glad to be out out of it.

Its a different day and age Larry, but I think your thoughts on the haulage industry are bang on. The same applies with most jobs these days, everything has changed, and mostly for the worst.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
If I had my time to do over again and if my memories of the haulage industry could be transplanted
back to my (just starting out era) I would have changed careers at around the age 40 mark because
the job has been going backwards for about 35 years it’s just my opinion of course, a gigolo might
just have suited me but would the missus have OK’d it I wonder, maybe wouldn’t give two hoots if
the money was good, but who would I get to ask her the question, I wouldn’t dare, I’m chicken.
thanks harry, long retired.

Harry if you are tired of living,   I will be a mate and ask for you! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:    I all ways say you can never do too much for a old BRS lorry driver mate. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

hiya,
Had second thoughts Norm, please don’t confront the Missus about me going ā€œgigloingā€
I fancy living a bit longer at least until I’ve emptied the pension pot.

If you are struggling to spend that pension pot Harry, why don’t you purchase an old BRS wagon to take around the shows …
I await your answer with baited breath.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Dave wait no longer with baited breath, NO WAY seen enough motors in my lifetime
I don’t mind looking at other people’s efforts and award praise where it’s due, but no
way do I want to work on them or even drive them anymore, I’m unlicenced anyway
even let my 7.5 entitlement go so’s I could renew my car licence on line.
thanks harry, long retired.

Will have to go back to the drawing board on that one Harry. Don’t blame you about another lorry, very expensive to keep going. I admire the people that keep the classic motors going.
Cheers Dave.

Yes Dave they are nice to look at, but like Harry I have no desire to drive one again, that is past history in my life. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: But if you have had a rich and colourful one, you have a lot to think about when you end up in a bathchair!

No good on grass those things Norm. Get a quad bike, you could go off roading or anywhere with one of those.
Cheers Dave.

Dave I am not cuckoo, I don’t go eating the grass. If the nurse gets breathless. Pushing   me, I will just.
