It’s getting down our 1 in 5 that’s the problem Dave, and getting back home again as she cant walk. Pic of last winter, we had about three weeks of that!! Seen enough snow now to last me a lifetime.
I hope its not frozen as solid as your wallet because that would be serious
ANON.
Pour some whisky on it and light a match
Thanks, with friends like you two who needs enemies? Me and our lass sat round a Polo Mint to keep waarm and t’pantry empty as well as me frozzen wallet. Will have to be up early in t’morning to catch a couple of Oystercatchers for our snap, then I’m off down Douglas with me begging bowl.
Snow on top of Snaefell this morning, doesn’t bode well for t’Pennines, black ice arse nipping days are coming your way.

Not good Pete.I don’t think it will be that bad just yet.Get the Council to clear the road because of the circumstances which they are duty bound to do.
Cheers Dave.
Oh Dave, dream on! The council only clear three roads in Matlock, one is the main A6 and the other two both go to the local Council Offices car park. They did give us a grit bin though, thoughtful of them. Think that we will be ok this week at least, but she has two more appontments before Christmas.
i hope it snows wednesday , i’ve got to go to chapel en le frith to get my hearing aids mended . the trouble is , if they mend them i’ll be able to hear the wife again ,cheers , dave

Well you can walk there Dave, or catch the train, all downhill from Buxton! My mate at Doveholes was well snowed in last year, couldn’t see out of the downstairs windows for a week or two but at least he saved on diesel!

Pete.
If your wife has a hospital appointment and has mobility issues, you can force their hand Pete.Lobby your local County Councillor.
Cheers Dave.
not a good plan pete , it’s uphill coming back , and chapel station is a 2 mile walk from the town , not that i could afford the train fare . i’m like johnny and chris , scraping by on a pittance . cheers , dave

I would leave that Chapel appointment Dave and have a bit more peace.
As for snow, well when I were a lad living in Froggatt 1947 t’milkman had to deliver t’milk down t’chimneys 'cos he couldn’t find house doors, that lasted January until April, snow, thas never seen snow like it etc etc etc…
Here you are,Froggatt Edge, just below Grouse Inn,1947. Notice lookout man watching for Ben Bennett and Hillhead Quarries coming round t’corner.

you wouldn’t need to run out of the way of hillhead lorries chris , you could walk faster than they could go up froggat . they had to creep down the other side in bottom gear , the brakes were useless , dave
