Dave we had one on northampton council, I can remember it rolling the tarmac when I was fancy free, then they pulled it off the road, and sat in the council yard rusting away, until two years ago,   when the lamport railway restorers got hold of it, and two weeks ago it was pictured in our local paper as good as new, and will be driven in fetes , carnavals, and steam fairs, it was built in northampton.

Hi Norm & Harry,
Ken Watkins & Sons are road surfacing contractors, but the steam roller was for vintage shows. As for tarmac and asphalt there are so many different grades and mixes nowadays, you need to be a laboratory technician to understand it.
Cheers Dave.

Dave I put my jimjams over my boilersuit to go to bed, at my age and delicate
constitution I catch cold easily and they keep the grease off the sheets, she still
complains that the diesel fumes escape though, a proper tramper Eh’.

Harry you are safe, it won’t be till 2050 they raise the pension age to seventy five,   and you are way pass that already,   and I am close behind.Only worried is will this generation last as long as us,  I do not think so, :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: to look at the condition of them, I think they will not last as long as the people in victorian times! Then the country will be in trouble,   they may come after the OAP’s to fill the gap like they did in the war, :astonished: :astonished: :astonished: they may need us to increase the population and make sturdy stock. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:
