Oldbury viaduct finished

All lanes on m5 oldbury junction are open works are finished.
How ever there’s 5 0mph average speed camera’s along the stretch where the works were taking place.

Hallelujah !!! For nigh on 3 years I’ve had to endure them when on my regular south west gig , not bad to say they were supposed to be finished in autumn , I wonder how much the contractors will be fined

Weren’t they supposed to take 18 months? They blamed the delay on 1 week of snow and ice and it’s taken 3 years?

What’s the 50 limit about? Let me guess- ‘pollution costs lives slow down’ [emoji2959][emoji35][emoji36][emoji2962]

I think they said the condition of the bridge (under the concrete…supports?) was worse than expected so it turned out there was more work to be done

The famous builders trick, start the job and then say “oh look at that, this is going take longer / cost more money”

I’m sure I’ve seen a sign saying ‘Truck parking’’ on the n/b side on there.
Anybody know anything about it?

And don’t forget that the weather was to hot when they started to relay the S/b carriageway causing the tar not to set :unamused:

Used to be able to park at Cannon Tools on Demuth Way. They have since closed the unit and moved to a new one.

Demuth Way is your usual double yellow do not park here estate on the Dreams side but you can park on the Euro Parts side

Yeah…that’s why I’m trying to probe the road ‘maintenance’ industry. It looks like an endless money shower but very hard to get in unless you know someone

The 50mph limit is in place because the brand new road surface is so ■■■■■■■ bumpy that if you go any faster there’s a possibility you will fly off the blooming viaduct.

But wait, it still has 3 lanes, a hard shoulder and a metal barrier. How long till its coned off again for the latest All Lane Running scheme :unamused:
