Alec is retired now, I had a drink with him a couple of weeks ago, along with Les Baston, the crack was great, all about old times & the camarardery , which is slowly dissapearing, but there is still a lot of good lads about who will remember those days, Regards Larry.

Thanks lawrence was speaking to Les up at Brunton last yr

Various other Constructors bought new early eighties

The lorry that started Fergusons Transport was a 1922 Bean bought by Matt Ferguson in 1927.
The lorry used to do collections daily in Newcastle for local firms in Blyth.

The Photo is of the Bean lorry which was bought in 1965 by Eddie Ferguson and was fitted with a body from Robsons of Blackhill.
The bean was completley refurbished by Eddie Ferguson,The painting and sign writing was done by Billy Slaughter.
The Bean now stands in the foyer at Dudley Depot.
It is believed that only two Bean lorries exist, the other in Austrailia although it is not in working order.

Aye & the reg SF, was very in keeping with the late Stuart Ferguson, Regards Larry.

hi lads, the next drink and natter meeting will be on the 30th june, hope you can all make it, marcus this is you a1 north, bumper
