Hello Crowbar, you’re welcome, as is Mr Dunbar. My dad drove for BOC for @ 20 years, he probably drove both of these Fodens, at BOC you just drove what you were allocated that day, I was about that time an apprentice diesel fitter so my runs out with him were getting rare, I did have at least one trip in one of these but can’t remember which one, what I can certainly remember is they were fliers with the Leyland 680 but a bit loud!!! Regards, Mizzo.
I drove for Mortons of Wooler in late seventies, had a Atkinson Borderer ex Vaux Breweries of Sunderland,i think it was bought from Coates

So that must have been about the time that Denis Beveridge from Milfield and Bobby Locke from Tweedmouth were there. Bobby later got a job working for Archbolds on a wagon and drag taking the cigarette filters from Jarrow to Stirling and Glasgow.
Didnt know Bobby Locke but worked with Dennis,he still lives here in Wooler,i think he has just turned 88
here’s a few photo’s taken during last weeks snowstorm due to my on going illness I am unable to venture far from the house but fortunately our house backs onto the exit from No 1 industrial estate on to Medomsley road so I am able to capture some of the vehicles as they leave. regards prattman.
