What page is the ERF At S/Harbour on ■■?, Regards Larry.

page 129 larry

thin k you have another pic on a later page and its a merc so not mine!

it has the same MFS/DFDS colours as my old iveco so thought it was a possible. still a great thread and have eventually managed to trawl through it, needless to say as an ex OD it bought back some great memories and thoughts from a kid going with my dad to loading containers down the dock as a teenager to eventually getting my licence and having to work for a living.

i will dig some old pics out over the weekend and try to post some but does anyone else have any marsden or htl as they changed to?

can remember tuckers motor from the docks them flags would have drove me mad!

Hi Larry, this was McPhees Wolverhampton depot! Front of building been recladded hiding the barrel shaped roof, this is the right one this time as i’ve checked with Paul Adams who used to deliver Manders paint there for onward delivery to the N East.

Yes Pete, that was McPhee’s depot they often parked their lorries across the road in Corser st. which was a favourite haunt for ladies of the night :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Evening all, …Ive got to go to my bed its an early start on the Sabbath,…wrapped bales to collect before 0700.

Of course that is McPhees old premises, called the greedy pig or something those Atkinsons on 40x8s,…I once, (unwisely) purchased one…a new definition for worn out!!!

Then she went back up to Bensons at Ashington…I remember every mile…revenge is sweet!..but was I tired when I collected my cheque!

Pete, Shorthouses were in the old canal arm, (now filled in), next to the Crane Foundry, about 200 yds up from Mc Phees , just below Walkers, (Wulfruna Coal).

Memories, memories eh?

Cheerio for now.

Bensons now theres a blast from the past, The operated several 8 W, Aktkys, The also had a couple of 6 W Dodge tippers in Tarmacs Livery working out of the tar plant at Monkton, I think the would be the last firm to run those 8 wheelers with the good old Gardner engines in , Happy long gone days, Regards Larry.
