Excellent job Ralph on the restoration on the Albion,Looks great.
Often wonder if there will be many or any enthusiasts about who could do this sort of restoration to this standard
in 20 years time on lorries of this age or older…

Regards

F Troop.

G.Lo, Regards Larry…wdon Ltd Seaton Burn old stuff from the good old days, Regards Larry.

That is a Scammell automatic coupling as fitted to the Scarab 3 wheeler used by British Railways. This coupling was fitted to many BRS Leyland Comets and Albion Chieftains operated by the Caledonian and Forth companies in the 1950s before heavier duty 5th wheel couplings were introduced. Does anyone know who built the very neat looking coach built cab a North East company I presume. ?
Cheers Leyland 600.

One for Kevmac 47, your MAN with ECN73.

Thanks for that Leyland600

Well the man to ask is Crowbar, He has the full history of this motor,so Im sure he will know where the cab was built, It looks ready to go out to work, And Im sure it would be a treat to drive having a 2 speed axle, Regards Larry.

I am sure it would be a treat to drive Lawrence it is 50 years just now since I last drove an FT37 model Chieftain I doubt if I could drive one now without being retrained as is the current craze. Did F.W.Cawthorne’s build cabs ? it is not a Holmalloy cab from Preston.
Cheers. Leyland 600.

Its not one of Cawthorns, There is a name plate inside the cab I think, But Crowbar will enlighten us when he reads our comments Im sure, Regards Larry.
