Jeff,it was ken who put it on Facebook, only about 10 minutes but interesting especially in Norman’s.Tony Usher has changed a lot,but Brian Backhouse looked exactly the same, even the same cardigan lol.
Thats OK Peter but how do I see it?

Jeff, I have seen it on the Transport drivers facebook page. There is 10 minutes of coverage but Ken says there is quite a bit more of it to come which I have not seen yet.
It shows good footage of old NE companies that have been forgotten and it brings back fond memories of Normans and the Quernow.

Both the Foden and the Bedford Tanker next to it were restored by John Monk, while he was managing director of Direct Transport Shildon.
The reason was I believe that Direct Transport had orriginally belonged to John’s father, who also owned West Auckland Breweries which was take over by Cameron’s. It is quite possible John or his family had an interest or shares in Camerons. Also Direct used to deliver and supply diesel. I cannot remember what they traded as, hence the Esso tanker on the Bedford.
The cream and green Leyland Tiger TS7 in Maidstone & District livery was owned by the late Ted Heslop of Acomb, Hexham who passed away about two months ago aged 84. A well known vehicle dismantler and scrapman he was an enthusiastic vintage bus and coach preservationist, Ted was responsible for saving a number of historic North East vehicles.
Cheers. Leyland 600
Hello Gary & Brian,
The Foden you are on about i beleive was Bought from Direct Transport Shildon as Carl Williams stated by Eddie Ferguson about 28 years ago,
It was bought in the Camerons livery and was never painted to my knowledge,The last time i drove the Foden was to a show at Wallington Hall,
It was olso driven by the late Harry Peverley and David Dargue.
Alan Ferguson sold the Foden a few years ago but i dont know who Bought it.
The Bean Lorry is beleived to be the only one still running in the world and stands in the foyer at Dudley depot,There is one other Bean which
has been found in Australia although it is not in running order.
Here is a photo of Alan and Stuart Ferguson taken at Blyth Depot with the Foden,Dodge & the Bean.
