Good to put a face to the name,Can remember you well when you came into Blyth to load,Remember when G E Armstrongs first came to Blyth to load they were based at Gateshead,Still remember there phone number 771888 Little Brian came to load with a Leyland Lynx rigid,Large lad who had a f10 who used to sleep in the passenger seat.olso a dark haired lad who ended up with a newsagent shop at Lynemouth.I olso got on well with the traffic lad in the office
at Meadowfield.They were a good bunch of lads that came in from Armstrongs.

This photo’s brings back memories I had the embarrasment of been over taken by Ted with this truck on the A1, they go faster than you think, well faster than a loaded BMC. Ted was a reserved type of person & didnt talk very much although Oliver Whitwood & myself had a good repore with him. He used to run a school mini-bus, I don’t know the exact circumstances but he was murdered. The Garage was actually on the front just before you turned into Ma Greens from the south.

Marcus the last time I saw this old girl it was on the move coming North on the A1
with Ted’s daughter I think it was, at the helm, I do hasten to add I was parked up
at Normans and half way through my tea before the “puffer” Sentinel got there.
