Old news story

Anybody remember this story? news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/91259.stm

Remember thinking at the time it was ■■■■■■■■ as if the throttle jammed he could have knocked it into neutral to stop or turn the engine off (as he did in the end). Anyone know this fellow or what happened to him after this?

Munchausens by proxy was the verdict, I think he is in a room with soft walls now, either that or a high ranking govt minister, he has all the qualifications

He was whipped to within an inch of his life and given a job as a National Express coach driver.

He got done for being a living brain donor iirc

he was tried for dangerous driving and found not guilty…

There was another one I remember on the A1. some plonker in a car this time

Still can’t fathom out how he couldn’t stop it. Obviously were no truck drivers on the jury.

The jury should have been replaced as they were stupid to believe his story. I think the case was discussed in detail on TruckNet too.

Only the dum were sticking up for the driver :stuck_out_tongue:

You mean various transport managers gave evidence? :open_mouth:
