Wm Rowe & sons had a small depot at Handsacre nr Rugeley but there main depot was at a Elford on the A513 nr tamworth

Talking of Joe Boon (RIP) and Peter Taylor of Haydons, I was up in Biddulph a few wick ago and I heard that another good old Haydons lad Arthur Unwin is still knocking about which is good to hear - he drove their brand new P reg Merc 6 legger when it was first delivered in August 1975 - I went down to Chard with him and a load of pigs - he put £7 of diesel in to get us home 200 odd miles LOL!

gardener 150,i had forgotten about 6 wheel merc, always 4 or 6 or 8 wheeler in shrewsbury.Joe did not miss many weeks. JOHN on Longmans used to always busy. i see meirs under another name i think somthing like c and m always see them coming shrewsbury direction. theres a bloke called Allan from biddulff moor he called AandP transport did he work at haydons. cheers Charlie
I see that Richard Jukes from Leintwardine has packed up the haulage and retired. Jukes had several lorries on livestock years ago,as did Alick Archer, whose Sons now run artic bulk tippers.

gardener 120, good photo sad day, you dont get good respected firms like haydons.i was trying to think when parrys finished i 1987 /.i did see Allan in liverpool to day but not to talk to. he has e r f artic tipper and his sons got a scanie. seeing HOLLINSHEADS thats the last time i saw peter driving one off them. there used to be a council yard by haydons.

Yes there did and that is where Hollinsheads coaches are now mate so there’s still a bit of Haydons in Wharf Rd
