Old girls still working

The Duchess on the way to Bulgaria last month

Really nice, just wondering is the older 95 cab layout any different to the W reg? Always thought the older ones looked really smart  Not many about now I’m assuming!

Cheers

Isn’t the DAF XF Cab basically the same as the old 95 and the older 2800 series before hand? IIRC?

The origional 95 was a great change from the 2800 etc as they started using the same panels as the Pegaso Troner and Seddon Atkinson Strato. As the 95 developed into the XF95 some panels altered like most facelift trucks i.e. plastic panels on the bottom of the doors to blank in the steps, headlight and grill shapes were more curved aparently to make the truck appear more friendly.
As for the dash the N reg dash is flat all the way across (no wrap round) but has the large centre console with the pull out tray but quite squarish in appearence where the W reg was very similar again everything was curved and the wrapround came in to fetch the radio down from above the sunvisors.

Saw a lovely 143 heading into Hull on the A63 this morning - didn’t catch the name, but it was blue and white I think, a tag axle with twin eminox, and a V shape of lights on the grille

Very under rated. Had one for a bit, incredibly comfortable motor and went well enough when you tweaked them too. Once you got her wound up she’d sit at 75 all day

They were definately more comfortable and better looking than the premium, drove a 365 on a G-plate years ago ! and was mighty impressed, went backwards with the premium for me…

the old ERF,s looked the best lol

I used to work for a company in Coleshill in Birmingham who ran old volvo fl10’s to do chep pallets

I saw these two yesterday. The Constructor was near Harlow and the FL10 was on Wetherby services.

I’ve seen this one about in the Cotswolds. I wonder if it’s ex Hills of Swindon? Red cab and Boweld body…

That’s a tidy FL10. I love it. I think it’s great seeing old motors still working.
