Old Firms in Oxford Area

Is the DCPC starting to bite? I’ve seen these vacancies advertsed today;
Chris Hayters (I enquired, not impressed by some womans’ attitiude TBH)
Oxford Carriers (always advertising, anyone know much about them?)
Cooper Construction
Sheehans (if it was on 8w and not skips…)
Micks Skips
“Blue Chip Work” (which translates to “Kier May Gurney, dustman”)
And the usual “Exciting opportunities. .” from agencies. :unamused:

…Oh and One Call (for the umpteenth time this year)
And one of Jakeys’ competitors from Long Hanborough.

Back in August on the roads of Oxon.

Ex Atlet of Thame Scania , before that it was on Servis pak of Wallingford , first life would of been easy ,second life would of been a lot harder , 92m was way to small for pulling a trailer that weighted 15t empty .

this Roadtrain was new to pete bettridge then ivor parry then ended up on cdc oxford for BRS , it then ran day and night .

Hi Jakey did BRS Oxford have many Crusaders on fleet , i think they ocasionally did forays to Llanelli ? regards Keith

Hi Nathan , Wilkinsons were at Milton park and FEDERAL EXPRESS then FED EX took them over .

I drove for Wilkinson’s out of Nuneaton, had an S/A with a 290 ■■■■■■■■ flyer, looking at the reg on that was it a 180 Gardner?

Hi Keith , the only Crusader left on the Brs Oxford fleet was the wrecker ,but I once saw a old service schedule which showed about five were on the fleet at one time , one was a early l reg and the rest around m to p reg . We were still doing the llaneli day and night trunk in to the late 80s I think , Ivor parry did nights and Bernard Woodward did days on a ex Hereford Scania .

I can remember them well at Llanelli , did not know any of the drivers though . Bet you can remember the Crusaders of Hughes Llanelli as well ? thanks again regards Keith

Good morning Keith

The Crusaders were gone and there were only a few Marathons left including the one pictured TAG 56 , when I was 16 and in the workshops this wagon was driven by Albert Hall but I am not sure if it was his wagon he had every day , it was not as good as this when I last saw it , we also had TAG 61 middle east sleeper , 67 and 68 and 84 day cabs , also 66 sleeper .

Just bought this one off ebay , bit before I started though.
