Love the pics thanks
. The old way of putting the sheet on, love it, “Health & Safety”
What’s that then
. The fleet all lined up looks great, a lot of todays “drivers” couldn’t park that straight, don’t see wagons parked up like that often now anywhere
. Regards Chris

adr may recognise this ambulance. saved from Leyland museum by my father, restored and owned by me
I do recognise it yes . Funny, my Mrs reckons I got selective-hearing/memory-loss (she doesn’t realise I haven’t forgotten what she said, I never heard it in the 1st place cos I wasn’t listening to her
), don’t remember birth-dates/anniversaries etc etc! But like most on here if it’s got wheels I’m there, lovely resto’ job that! Regards Chris
bjf, would that be a J1, side-valve, 3-speed box?
Hi Barry , great pictures but a bit before I was intrested in lorrys , ask your dad how many lorrys they had please ?
The blue Guy must of just came off contract when I started as it was still immaculate and was used by Gordon Cullimore on shunting in the yard . 5 cylinder Gardiner
Do you recall the dirty/white Guy we had for taking trailers to Mot ? ,did it not have a 505 in ? now that was slowwwwwwwwwwwww .
How about "NODDER " Ted Starling ,excellent pass rate for mots due to his exchange in ■■■■ mags with Newbury

Looks like it as it has the Morris-Commercial badge, the later JB’s were normally badged as Morris (or Austin for the 101).
Pete.
Barry , now this was a proper truck , when Den came in to the yard to pick stillages up every one looked at this wagon with envey even though it was a roadtrain .
Barry has Mick got any photos of the Cruisers ?

My Old Girl after Cannons sold her on.
Ron Peploe…now there was a legend in transport on Milton Park!, they used to have a Scania 92 with the words haulage and Storage on the front trouble was some of the letters had fell off and it said haulag and storag …always made me chuckle!, apy dayz!
Barry , Did Oxford depot ever run 88s or Transcons ? , I seem to recall Big Ron saying he had some thing, and it fell to bits with rust , do you remember the crates full of Marinas ?
How about Frank puu and Eric Merrett ? , I still see Elaine Lillyman she now works for Portacabin , how about that ■■■■■■ Mercer ?
Alan Long RIP
Just had a message from Alan’s granddaughter that he passed away suddenly. Sat 25th.
Some on here will have known or heard of him in the form of Long Brothers Haulage which he and his brother John ran. Alan and I were great mates from the late 50s through to 70s when because of different work paths spent less time in each others company. Starting 1968 on Ameys with a contract tipper, later joined by John, they probably had 4 or 5 wagons running out of Amey pits. Round about 69/70 he bought a s/hand F88 6x4 and hauled Dykes Bros trailers for Crendon Concrete, then subbed to Bennetts, doing Spain and Italy, for a while he was on regular Greece (Piraeus). He also had another two drivers, running to the Middle East. He had over 40 years of continental and when I last spoke to him, late 2012, he had just retired aged 76. He was a grafter with a great sense of duty towards a decent days work.

I CAN REMEMBER AN 88, SMOKED LIKE CRAZEY. IT WAS NOT ALLOWED ON THE FERRYS AS NO ONE COULD BREATHE AS THE AIR WAS BEING BUILT UP. WE HAD A TRANSCON FROM BIRMINGHAM WHEN THE FORD CONTRACT FINNISHED BUT WENT TO SWINDON AFTER A FEW WEEKS. REMEMBER THE TRANSCON WRECKER AT HARTFORDS, DRIVEN BY ROY POYSER ?
FRANK WENT TO BOSTON AND NOT SURE WHERE ERIC WENT. ELAINE ? DONT KNOW HER AND STEVE DESIGNED THOSE AERO ROOF TRAILERS. HE WAS FEATURED IN COMMERCIAL MOTOR A FEW YEARS BACK.
