Apparently this is “a gravel pit near Witney” but I can’t identify it from the site or the green tipper; Could it be Ducklington lake perhaps, which supplied ballast for the Witney Bypass?
Job going on Tuckwells’ next month as their 8wheeler driver’s retiring.
…If you feel guilty about having an extra tea break here and there then this job is not for you and may I suggest you try the Red Arrows
Here you go Chazzer, passed this just the other side of the Severn Bridge today, bit tattier than when we ran them out of Bicester, had a Keune & Nagel IVECO on the front.

Ha Ha, no not going that far Steve I always like mine to have something different from the others. Cryo’s don’t mind you doing a couple of things to them as long as its not offensive/rude or covers up the logo!

Trying to think back now Steve, yes mate he probably would have, these followed on from the Sed-Atki’s with the IVECO cab that were a total disaster on there, 1st wagons (I use that term looosely) that Wincanton put on the contract, they used to bounce all over the place, shocking ride with a tanker on, resulted in a lot of blokes off with back trouble so they didn’t last long!
Next time you see Colin mate, or if I can catch up with him, ask him if he’s got any old H&M pics, he was on there for a few years back in the late 70s early 80s.

Hi Steve, lovely old pic mate, yep I can hear the old boy now coming out with some memory or story about them. When we used to live in the flats up on Green Rd roundabout, I spent hours & hours sat out on that balcony with him, that was when every heavy delivering to or passing through Oxford went round that roundabout, & with British Leyland in full swing then it was a lorry spotters heaven living there, dad used to make us a cup of tea & we’d grab a couple of stools out the kitchen & just sit out there, there was hardly a wagon or a haulier that he didn’t know something about I’d give a years salary now to sit out there with him again for just an hour, to listen to a proper old wagon driver is a treat, sad there aren’t as many of them about now!
Cheers Chris
