When I was a kid my dad took me to Germany via Rotterdam. The lorry an AEC Mandator and fridge trailer were lifted into the Bay Fisher by the sea-plane crane at Felixstowe. We delivered a load of beef to a cold-store in Dusseldorf and ran up to Hamburg and loaded blocks of frozen fish as return load. I think it was 1964. The trailer went in the hold, but the unit was tied down on the hatches. Johnny Wyatt who owned Fridged Freight would have gone balistic if he’d seen his new motor perched on there. Jim
