hi warbo

yeh mate it would be good to see some pictures of the marathons & roadtrains, i was thinking of doing a model of them.
i used to work across the road in newfield ind estate for t p hewitt tarpaulins & used to live just down adams ave so used to see em quite regular.

i get down garner street regular aswell in me car doin a bit of truckspotting, i cant drive a truck anymore due to me accident in 89.

How very ture.

when i think back to some of the “tricks” we used to pull OMG :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

does anyone recall sc ferneyhough from macclesfield, i think they had a yard in sneyd hill, i seem to recall brand new volvo f12 and tipping trailers, red and cream, anyone have any info?

Stan ferneyhough was based at his farm in swythamley did’nt know he had a base at sneyd hill, most lads i met on there took the motors home.Anybody know when stan got let out ?

I think it was a case of a couple of trucks parked up there rather than a yard.

think he had a yard in sneyd hill when he made his come back after his holiday. he had about 6 motors on container work but didn’t last very long .

Fernyhoughs, many a story use to go around about them. Used to work with a bloke who drove for them, but not for long. A couple of the stories were that 1 of his wagons was pulled on its way to Cornwall, and trippng the weighbridge out at over 50t, and then spotted by the same copper in Stoke a few hours later, another one was when the ministry paid a visit to his yard, only to be faced with 2 f12 Volvos with the same reg plates. Dont know if these were true, they were told to me by the bloke I used to work with.
