Old Codger!

Had to drive another driver’s wagon the other day. He had left his tacho card in the ashtray. Looked at the date of birth and was well shocked 1942!!! Never would have guessed either from talking to him now and again. Flatbed work as well so you have to be a little bit fit.

We have a couple of guys in their LATE 60’s and early 70’s who do 1 day a week, have more life in them than some drivers half their age if you pass the annual medical and you still have your wits about you then why not.

I’m fortunate to work where they offer 5, 3 or 1 day contracts probably go that way myself eventually.
Can you imagine going from being out of the house for 60 hours a week to nothing? me neither.

I reckon you shouldn’t be allowed to drive HGVs if you are over 40…

Corrected that for you!!
