I didn’t know it was called that because I always used ‘Les Trois Moulins’ just up the road, but I think Wheelnut mentioned it was on the N137 just north of St. Genis de Saintonge (17). Get to it from sortie 36 or 37 A10.
If I am talking through my hat no doubt Malc will jump in, but if I am right, IMO the above named 3 Mills is better and can be found on the same road but near St. Leger, north of Pons.
Salut, David.
I dont think Claud runs it anymore ,someone told me he now has a resturant at Baberzoo, althogh I stopped there in the car during the summer and Tony was still doing the fuel pumps. Spardo did you ever use The Flying Sausage between Rennes/ Nantes on the old road?

If you mean ‘The Flying Sausage’ south of Nantes on the N137 about 4kms before Aigrefeuille, then I don’t think so. I loaded up just down the road from there with orange juice once and always promised myself to try it but don’t think I ever did. It was always well parked up though. One reason why I might not have used it was because I was an extreme regular in ‘Le Relax’, a bit further down the road at St. Hilaire de Loulay, just before Montaigu. A cracking resto with Michelle running the bar and her husband (I think) cooking every night on the big open fire. A younger bloke took over that job when the boss paralysed himself in a born-again biker accident.
My most regular haunt between Nantes and Rennes was the big one at Derval, just off the main drag on the D537 junction south of the town. Good grub and very clean facilities.
Salut, David.
Davids got it spot on about the old Claudes. I never got to try his favourite Resto that he mentioned.
A better place than Derval is about 10 kilometres nearer to Rennes, but the name escapes me at the moment, Its one of them you are taken to by the French and never forget it. I will try and find the name of the place

Yes do that Malc, with location, it certainly isn’t marked on my map
. I’ll never live it down
.
Going to the works ‘do’ again on the 14th of Jan, so will ask those still rolling .
Salut, David.
Do you mean the resturant next to a Boulongerie withn the parking on the otherside of the road or do you mean the fish resturant near La Rochelle?

The resto I mean is the one at St Genis de Saintonge with the AS24 pumps in the parking area and the Total garage next door who repair and sell CB’s
I think Davids favourite might be known as the fish restaurant

Not sure if we are all talking at cross purposes now. St. Genis with the AS24 pumps opposite is Old Claudes, but ‘my’ resto at St. Leger is definitely not known as the fish restaurant .
If Kerbut is talking about La Rochelle I reckon he means that big one on the left southbound on the N137 at Yves between La Rochelle and Rochefort. That sells a lot of seafood being just across the road from the bay .
Ah! Just had another thought Kerbut. The one next to the boulangerie is probably L’Oasis which is on the N137 at St. Jean de Beugné just off the A83 at sortie 7. Another good place with a segregated area for frigos right down the back of the park. Was a bit teed off one night though, I’d just bought a phone card in there when I discovered they’d changed the payphone to coin only
.
Salut, David.
