Ok was it you Xmas Day?

I went from North Yorks down to Sheffield on an errand today thinking the roads would be nice and clear around lunchtime. They weren’t bad but not as clear as I was expecting.

I saw no less than 6 artics!!! Who the hell is working Xmas day??

dunno, but, if i was to hazard a guess, i would say, no less than 6 artic drivers

Pretty sure it wasn’t Dozy

Foreign drivers who do not celebrate Christmas and milk tanker drivers.

You can usually, but not always, tell by looking at the trailer or unit, the company name or owner will be on the side. Hth.

Spot on, I had to run over to Sheffield to pick up my daughter yesterday and saw a milk tanker on the 62 towards Manchester and a foreign plated Nobby Dressingtable wag and drag parked up in a lay by on the Woodhead

Got on the A1 nthbound at 5am Christmas morning to go up to York to pick my step son up and bring him home for Christmas ( he was on shift at York hospital until 7am and his car wad stolen on sunday) and as I joined the main carriageway a container wagon ran sthbound with a plain white FH on the pin. Saw about a dozen or so on the way up only one foreigner and one milk tanker the rest were general haulage motors.
Only saw a couple of foreigners on the way back down. My guess us the early ones were running in from nights out…

If they paid me enough, I’d have worked yesterday no probs.

I was sober until 10pm anyway and having a barney with the missus really makes Christmas.

I’d have rather been in a truck earning :grimacing:

your missus would have rather you been out earning too
Try tramping ,you get the both of best worlds, you earn it, she spends it, don’t have to see each other, happy marriage
Or get rid of missus, don’t work many hours, no nights out, have lots of money for beer and be happy, free and single

I normally am a tramper, been on day work for about 6 weeks, (3 jobs) which probably proves your point correct :grimacing:

Certainly not me i’ve a whole week off whoopi wee .

Well it wasn’t me, I didn’t work Xmas eve cause the night driver was still at Tilbury.Bet he was a happy bunny, I shall find out tomorrow. Why were you chaps going to Sheffield, it wasn’t that good, believe me I was here all day.

I went out for a run very early on Christmas day morning and the only moving vehicle I saw was a Cotteswold Dairy milk tanker on the Ross on Wye bypass. Later on the journey down to Surrey there were maybe five or six artics, all foreign registered.
