Oil change intervals Volvo FM12 - 420

Can anyone advise me of the correct oil change intervals for a Volvo FM 12 please?

If they are on six weekly service/inspection intervals then it could be once every 48 weeks, or at the most every 4th inspection/service which means 24 weeks. My last couple of Volvo’s were on 24 week oil changes, I never put a drop of oil in them betweens inspections/services as they never needed it and had no problems with them. They were on full R&M so if anything had gone wrong because of the length between changes it wouldn’t have been down to me anyway as the change interval was set by Volvo.

I know years ago oil and filters were more likely to be changed every six weeks or so but the times they are a changing. :wink:

Our FH12 460’s are on 12 week changes, thats on a full Volvo R&M package

thanks. My last motor blew-up prematurely. It was an FL 10. By my reckoning the oil was changed once every five years.Only 380,000 miles on the clock.

My FM12 - 420 was on contract from BRS and they dictated 6 weekly inspections, oil change on every third one.
