Years ago I read in an old TRUCK mag that the first trips to Midlle East,in early 70’s required an engine oil change after only 5.000 km.
Between this oil change also up to 10 quarts of engine oil,to avoid runnin bellow the MIN level.
This because trucks run heavy, for hours in a very hot climate.
For the same reason,a common practice was change the con rod and main bearings at around 100.000 km (to reduce oil consumptuion?)
It was true for thise times or I made some missunderstood?

Hey edzio, in those days oils wern’t that level of quality of today,
ans so intervals were done after 5000 or 10000km and there were lots of bed oils too then.
