Oil and Fuel companies

This is the tanker i had with brogan fuels in scotland, I was on the petroplus contract then brogan was taken over by GB oils. All petroplus livery was removed and we ended up with all white units and tanks, this photo was taken at AAoils stirling.

Aye,she’ll do for me John as long as she’s got the 11 litre engine and 6-speed box. She is the Ghia version of the AEC MK3,known as a “tin front”. John Hudson/Samuel Williams had herds of AECs at Dagenham Dock.
Nice clear photo of a popular 8-legger for tanker work years ago. :sunglasses:

Taken around 1998 when Esso ran their own fleet out of Bromford Birmingham

Taken today making a delivery to the Sunlight Laundry in Mossley Tameside

A few 8 leggers

And some six wheelers

Shellgas is now Avanti Gas, this is the new livery.

Yes they are professional pictures; I will send you full size ones if you want them. I think there are 5 like that one, all on 59 plates. That truck (AVF) was built at Lakelands then sent to Volvo at Blantyre to be decaled and finished of, now it works out of the depot at Llandow.

Here she is in Blantyre having the stickers put on.

The new ones have a redesigned barrel; if you look at the ends you can see they are more hemispherical giving optimum weight and capacity.

Heres a real oldie.

Steptoe, are Marshalls still going, they were on the old A18 on the r/h side out of Scunthorpe towards Brigg. They ran tankers and marketed LPG as “Marlin” in the 70s.
