Whats the situation on an engine coating thats delivered through the oil in euro 5 and 6 engines?
Been told if i add anything to the oil then the engine wont start because of the sensors.
Any advice?

Why on earth would you want to add anything to your oil anyway
Maybe some Lucas/STP or Wynns in a worn out engine to decrease oil consumption, but a tight engine needs nothing added to its oil
The oil companies have done extensive research running into many many millions to make their oil do its job properly, so why would you want to screw around with it
I understand oil companies have done a great job, but if there’s a way to get more mpg with these petrol prices, I’m all for it.
The treatment doesnt stay in the oil, its just transported in the oil then coats the moving parts of the block, so it reduces friction and oil leaks, stuff like that.
So its not messing with the oil and doesnt affect it
Just want to know if using it is going to void my warranty?
Do a google search on Slick 50, it may influence your decision…
Yeah, i’ve seen about that stuff and snake oil for many years, however my view has always been that eventually there would be something worthwhile that would make a difference, same with anything really, technology’s always moving.
… But would adding anything void my warranty?

You really need to check the small print on your warranty, but I would say that it almost certainly would void it.
These additives do more damage than good at the end of the day. Manufacturers fine tune their engines on certain oil, so adding something in makes your engine run slightly different. The additives actually make the oil thinner, effectively changing the grade of the oil which may affect your oil pressure so the bearings for your crank/cam/mains may prematurely wear.
If you want better MPG then use the manufacturer spec oil and change your driving technique to decrease fuel consumption. DONT USE THESE ADDITIVES!
