Oh wow advantage training

It would be tiring, too tiring to be doing 8 hours a day for 4 days. I have tried it when training on the bus and it truly is tiring, but I was paired up with another for some of it.

The ‘norm’ is 4-5 hours a day over 3 or 4 days with a test on the next. 2 hours isn’t enough. 4 hours is a good level and as you’re here I would recommend looking in the newbies section post for learning drivers. But then, if you’ve already paid Advantage then this point is all moot.

You would certainly get a taste of doing long hours out in the real world. I would reckon the 8 hours is 2:1 though.

Make sure you kick up a stink if you’re even remotely short of happy with their services because the spotlight will be on them now what with what happened at the offices.

Thanks guys, yeah, actually 8 hours a day seems a little excessive when i think about it…they told me it would be 4 hours, but the trainer said there was 2 of us doing it, so it would be 2 hours each, which is ridiculous. believe me, i am kicking up a stink, just trying to get through to them now, but keep getting the excuse of “our office is a crime scene, we cant access anything”, thats their problem, not mine!!!

i am so glad i found this, just wish i had before i handed my money over x

When I did my class 2 for the first time around I had 4 lessons of 4 hours but it was shared with another driver, so 4 days of 2 hours each. Test on the 5th day. He passed, I didn’t.

If it is two trainees to one truck then yes, an 8 hour day but I think the best way to learn is 1:1 in a 4-5 hour driving slot.

yes, thats whats happening here…4 hours daily, split into 2 2 hour slots, and test on friday…ive also got 3 chances at the test, although i have my doubts about that too now, as i was only given one time, so dont know whether to believe them about anything now, thanks for your input, means a lot to me  ■■

Yes I agree with the above post. Five hours of one to one training is sufficent after this the trainee tends to get tired and consequently starts making mistakes which can also knock their confidence.

This is only my opinion but I know it works!

Elmet Driver Training

thanks for your input guys, its been really helpful to me…ill let you all know how i get on tomorrow and with the test fri, although im a bit worried about that now, as i thought i was getting more training…i guess we will see eh?, thanks again xxxxx

Has anybody spoken to advantage lately as they seem not to be answering the phone!

ive been trying to get hold of them today with no luck…the emergency numbers they posted on their site last week were working, some answered, some didnt…

Some people can pick it up really easily and the 8 hours training in total would be enough to get them through.

This is where the sales spiel does not give the full picture.

Yes the school down the road is 200 quid dearer but they give you more training and a far better chance of a first time pass.

Let this be a lesson to others who are contemplating taking the cheapest option.

Best of luck to you on Friday Pickles.

Let’s hope luck is on your side

yes…a hard, and expensive lesson to learn, sadly, i failed on friday…i was nowhere near ready for the test, so no great surprise really!!!

i have phoned advantage to book a re-test, and told them i need more training, which they tell me will cost me more money, which i haven got…i gave them all my savings, oh well, i tried to get them to swap my cpc fast track for more driving tuition, but no joy there either, non transferable they said, so im a bit stuck…

thanks again for all the support and advise guys, it means a lot to me xxxx

I can’t say I’m surprised though I obviously would have wished for a different result for you.

I hope you are able to find some funds soon so that the training you have already received and paid for does not go to waste and maybe you can have a blue certificate in your hand next time round.
